An art historian and critic, Itzhak Goldberg is professor emeritus at the Université Jean Monnet in Saint-Étienne, having previously taught at Université Paris-Nanterre. A specialist in modern and contemporary art, expressionism, and the figure in painting, he has published Jawlensky ou le visage promis (Jawlensky The Promised Face; L'Harmattan, 1998; English ed. L'Harmattan, 2020), Installations (CNRS Éditions, 2014), Expressionnisme (Expressionism; Citadelles & Mazenod, 2017), and Chagall (Citadelles & Mazenod, 2019). Long a critic at Beaux Arts magazine, he is a member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) and an exhibition curator.
