About Plurielles

An annual review of secular and humanist Jewish culture since 1993

The review

Plurielles is an annual review founded in 1993 by the Association for a Humanist and Secular Judaism (AJHL). It publishes contributions from scholars, writers, philosophers, and journalists who explore Judaism in its diversity, its history, and its contemporary expressions.

Each issue is organized around a thematic dossier — languages of the diaspora, borders, fear, dialogue, modernity, the relation to the Other — and offers essays, critical reviews, literary texts, interviews, and primary documents.

The review aims to be a space for secular, open reflection on Judaism in dialogue with the great questions of philosophy, literature, and contemporary history.

The AJHL

The Association for a Humanist and Secular Judaism (AJHL) is a French non-profit (loi 1901) founded in Paris. It promotes a secular and humanist vision of Judaism, rooted in the cultural, philosophical, and literary heritage of the Jewish people, independent of religious orthodoxy.

The AJHL has organized many cultural events, colloquia, and gatherings — including the Books of Jewish Worlds and Diasporas in Dialogue series (2008-2016).
