Mireille Hadas-Lebel, a historian and specialist of ancient Judaism, was a professor at INALCO, where she directed the Hebrew department for many years. She taught the history of religions at the Université Paris-Sorbonne until her retirement. Recent books include Rome, la Judée et les Juifs (Rome, Judea, and the Jews; Picard, 2009) and Une histoire du Messie (A History of the Messiah; Albin Michel, 2014).
