Henri Minczeles (died 2017)

A French historian, a graduate of the EHESS and a doctor of history, Henri Minczelès devoted his work to Eastern European Jewry and the Jewish labour movement. A leading figure at the Bibliothèque Medem, he was the author, among other books, of Histoire générale du Bund. Un mouvement révolutionnaire juif (A General History of the Bund: A Jewish Revolutionary Movement, Austral, 1995; reissued by Denoël in 1999 and by L'Échappée in 2024), Vilna, Wilno, Vilnius. La Jérusalem de Lituanie (Vilna, Wilno, Vilnius: The Jerusalem of Lithuania, La Découverte, 1993) and a Histoire des Juifs de Pologne et de Russie (History of the Jews of Poland and Russia, Albin Michel).
