Egon Friedler (died 2022)

Egon Friedler was a Uruguayan essayist and journalist, a specialist in modern Jewish literature and in secular, humanist Zionist thought. The author of El canon judío. La lista de las 100 mayores obras de la moderna literatura judía (The Jewish Canon: The List of the 100 Greatest Works of Modern Jewish Literature; 2002), he wrote regular columns for the Latin American Jewish press for many years, and contributed to Plurielles on subjects including the Haskalah and the integration of Jews in Argentina.
